Our ready-mix, aggregates, technical, and administrative teams combine decades of expertise with a hands-on, community-focused approach. We are proud to know our customers by name. We understand their challenges and provide solutions to keep their projects moving.
In 1998, three well-known construction companies in Western New York joined forces. They were Stone Concrete, CB Concrete, and Frey Concrete. Together, they created United Materials, LLC. Founders Dick Holmes and Wade Cook used their skills, staff, and resources to help more customers in the area.
In 2006, the company grew by buying Scranton’s Thruway Builders Supply. This move made it one of the top building materials suppliers in the area.
United Materials continued to grow by acquiring Morningstar Concrete Products in 2011.
In 2024, our acquisition of WNY Concrete in Batavia, NY, marks an important step in growing our footprint throughout Western New York.
Today, United Materials proudly operates as part of Votorantim Cimentos, a global leader in building materials. Our North American family includes VCNA, Prairie Materials, Superior Materials, Canada Building Materials, and St Marys Cement.
